MY LOVE AFFAIR WITH BODY SHOP
This love affair started about three years ago. I have never bought any of the Body Shop's products until I received a small gift from a friend. I fell in love with the musk skin lotion and musk perfume oil instantly and since then, I have been patronising their products.
The Body Shop green hub store is so refreshing and has a cool ambiance. The staff is always there to welcome you with their smiles and they are ever ready to introduce all the wonderful range they carry. The use of natural products in the lotion, body scrub, perfume, soap, cosmetics and aromatherapy oil make their shops smell so beautifully intoxicating and you would not miss the fresh waft of fruits and blooms every time you pass by the store. Even if I don't make any purchases, I would just drop in to flare my nostrils and take deep breaths of the refreshing smell of guava, magnolia or the Moroccan rose.
The Body Shop has five core values to push for their social and environmental commitment. These are Support Community Trade, Defend Human Rights, Against Animal Testing, Activate Self-Esteem, and Protect Our Planet. They are serious on these values and their corporate responsibility extends to supporting organisations that have little help from the conventional funding.
I love them for striving to protect our beautiful planet, which is not ours, but which we borrow from our children. They do it not because it's fashionable but because they believe it’s the only way. All their products are from natural ingredients and they not only enhance your outer beauty but also the inner beauty of man and woman so that we can present with confidence our unique image, lifestyle and personality.
Last Friday, while the boys were away at camp, I took out all my Body Shop purchases, spread them out on the table and tried my hands and eyes at arranging them for a display shoot with my faithful Samsung NV10 camera.
See if I have talent for window shop display or not?
